As of early Sunday, Carlos Marmol had yet to make contact with Felipe Alou, manager of the Dominican Republic, regarding the World Baseball Classic. Marmol is reconsidering whether he will play for the team.
In other Cubs-related World Baseball Classic news, the word out of Japan is that Kosuke Fukudome hit a grand slam in an exhibition game against the Tokyo Giants. The Cubs won’t see Fukudome until Team Japan is finished in the event.
