Mike Fontenot will get his first start at third base Sunday for the Cubs against the Padres. Here’s the batting order: SS Ryan Theriot, 2B Aaron Miles, CF Reed Johnson, 1B Jake Fox, 3B Fontenot, RF Doug Deeds, LF Richie Robnett, C Paul Bako, P Ryan Dempster.
This is Dempster’s first Cactus League start, and he’ll be facing San Diego’s Jake Peavy.
