Tough break

The son of Cubs coach Ivan DeJesus broke his left leg sliding into home plate during a “B” game Monday between the Dodgers and Brewers in Glendale. Ivan DeJesus Jr., who was the Dodgers’ 2008 Minor League Player of the Year, is likely out for the season with a broken lower tibia. He batted .324 last year for Double-A Jacksonville.

His father, who is a special assistant for the Cubs, was with the Puerto Rican team, preparing for the World Baseball Classic. Last Thursday, Ivan Sr. watched his son play in a big league game for the first time when the Cubs and Dodgers met at HoHoKam Park.

I feel bad for Ivan. I thought we’d trade for him and he could play nearer to his father. Then we could get Rich Hill back and be the bestest team!

I hope you’re joking about Rich Hill, bestest.

No, I hope Rich Hill once again becomes a CUB, and Carrie you are great

Assuming he’s regained the capacity to throw baseballs in the strike zone again, I guess that would be just fine.
