3/16 Classic Cubs update

Kosuke Fukudome went 1-for-4 and struck out three times in Japan’s 6-0 win over Cuba in the second round of the World Baseball Classic. Cubs pitcher Ted Lilly was expected to start Tuesday for Team USA against the loser of Monday’s game between Puerto Rico and Venezuela. I would NEVER conider calling Theriot and Fontenot “The Mighty Mites.” I lived on the south side of Chicago for most of my life and Nellie Fox and Luis Apparicio did quite well for themselves, as well as, that other Chicago team.

If anything, I ‘d like to have them distinguished as “The NO,” guys. That ought to show the opposition that they’ll not be easy outs.

Thanks for listening to a Cubs senior citizen, now in Virginia.

I just looked at my NCAA brackets, one of the 5-12 games has UNC vs Rich Hill. Who would have thunk it.

If we can’t use mighty mites, how about terrific tykes…. or magnificent midgets… or super shorties.

And FYI dental Carries are another name for cavities. I’ll bet our blog leader knew that one.
