Expect official confirmation on Wednesday, but the Cubs are expected to retire No. 31 in honor of pitchers Greg Maddux and Fergie Jenkins on May 3. The Cubs are home that day vs. Florida. Maddux played for Chicago from 1986-92 and again from 2004-06, while Jenkins pitched for the Cubs from 1966-73 and 1982-83. Jenkins was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1991. It’s just a matter of time for Maddux.
