Extra credit
The extra work by Micah Hoffpauir and coach Mike Quade early Monday paid off in the first inning. Hoffpauir, starting in right field, made a diving catch of Nomar Garciaparra’s fly ball for the second out. Quade was the first one to shake Hoffpauir’s hand to congratulate him as he trotted off the field in the first.

Quade was also the first person to remove Hoffpauir’s cup from his bun crack after he was given a MLB wedgie on his arrival to the dugout.
