4/7 Soto update

Expect Koyie Hill behind the plate Wednesday in the Cubs’ series finale vs. the Astros. Geovany Soto has a sore right shoulder, something he said he experienced in Spring Training, and could miss a couple days. Soto felt the discomfort when he threw to second in the third inning on Tuesday trying to get Kaz Matsui.

Lou Piniella said Soto may be sidelined until the weekend series in Milwaukee, and the team would know more on Wednesday. This season marks the first time in 23 years that the Cubs have opened without a player on the disabled list.

What if Hill gets hurt? Soto said he could play in a “super emergency.” Shortstop Ryan Theriot was behind the plate warming up Aaron Heilman in the ninth. Who’s the emergency catcher?

“Me,” Piniella said.

It would be weird to see number two at the number two position. http://heuershighlights.mlblogs.com/
