5/27 Roster moves update & lineup

Jake Fox, Jason Waddell and Andres Blanco joined the Cubs on Wednesday, and Bobby Scales and Neal Cotts were sent to Triple-A Iowa, while Aaron Miles was placed on the 15-day disabled list because of his sore shoulder. Miles received a cortisone shot and will not do anything for four or five days, then go to the Cubs’ facility in Mesa, Ariz., to rehab.

Blanco, who can backup at shortstop and second, was in the lineup Wednesday for the series finale against the Pirates. It’ll be LF Soriano, SS Theriot, RF Bradley, 1B Lee, CF Johnson, C Soto, 3B Freel, 2B Blanco and P Zambrano.

Also, Carlos Marmol rejoined the Cubs after his wife gave birth to the couple’s second daughter, Caroline. Everyone is doing well.

About darn time with Cotts. I just dont see him as anything more that a triple a roster filler

Feel bad for Scales though….he played pretty well

I would have liked to see Scales stay too, but hopefully Blanco can fill in as well as Bobby did. It was never too soon to get rid of Cotts and I’m excited to see what Fox can do. Soto and Hoffpauir have been able to make good transitions once they finally made it, so maybe Fox can become a good one as well.

I don’t understand why Scales was sent back down. He was getting on base more consistently than any other infielder besides Theriot. He was definitely playing better than Miles or Freel.

Join the club, there are a lot of us that don’t understand what Hendry and/or Pinella are doing with this roster.
Maybe the TWO Hendry fans out there can do some s’planin’. The team roster, record & cohesivness all points to a middle of the road organization with a limited budget, Hendry and his 130 million plus payroll is an embarrasment compared to what mil and st. luois has.
