Reds road trip

If you’re going to Friday’s Cubs game in Cincinnati — and apparently a lot of people are — try to get to Great American Ball Park early. Not only are they expecting 50,000 for Friday’s Cubs-Reds game, but there’s also a sold-out Keith Urban concert next door at US Bank Arena in Cincinnati.

If you’re feeling generous, the Reds are sponsoring a food drive during the Cubs series. Anyone donating a non-perishable food item in designated food collection barrels will receive two tickets to the June 17 game vs. the Brewers (Cubs fans could stick around and jeer the Brewers).

I’ll bet most of the fans traveling to Cinci bought their tickets thinking the Cubs would be good this year and would rather take a shorter trip to the south side, wear their Cubbie blue, and cheer for the Indians and DeRosa and Wood this weekend!

I’ve been checking Orioles box scores to see how
Felix Pie is doing, and I’m wondering if Corey Patterson is still in the major leagues.

Corey is playing for the Nationals’ Triple-A Syracuse team, and batting .237 in 47 games with five homers and 16 RBIs. Pie was batting .205 for the Orioles.
