Lou Piniella says he may have found something to help Milton Bradley. Piniella arrived early on Wednesday and looked at some video of Bradley’s swing this year and last year, then did a few demonstrations in the middle of the clubhouse.
“It’s fairly minor,” Piniella said. “He doesn’t have to change much at all except one little thing.”
* Carlos Zambrano, who was starting Wednesday, pointed out to reporters that he had blisters — but they’re on his left hand.
“He’s not going to pitch left-handed tonight,” Piniella said.
* Jake Fox may have been sent down to Triple-A Iowa to make room on the roster for Aaron Miles but he could be back for Interleague games in AL parks. Lou Piniella said Fox can go to Iowa to get some regular at-bats, and help when the Cubs go to Detroit and the White Sox later this month.
* The Cubs won’t have eight representatives at this year’s All-Star Game in St. Louis. Piniella didn’t expect to go either, and was planning a trip to the eastern side of Lake Michigan.
“I would rather have my three days off,” he said.
