College World Series update
Second baseman DJ LeMahieu, the Cubs’ second-round pick in the Draft, went 3-for-5 with an RBI in LSU’s 9-5 win over Virginia on Saturday night in the College World Series in Omaha. It’s the first time the Tigers have won the Omaha opener in four appearances since 2000. Cubs GM Jim Hendry was on hand to watch — he’s close with coaches for both LSU and Virginia. The Tigers now face Arkansas on Monday night.
