7/11 Fuld to Cubs
According to the Iowa Cubs website, outfielder Sam Fuld was pulled from Friday’s game after the fourth inning so he could join the Major League team in Chicago on Saturday and take Geovany Soto’s place on the 25-man roster. Soto will be going on the disabled list because of a left oblique strain. Fuld was 1-for-3 on Friday, and batting .286 overall. This will be his second call-up to the big league team.
The Cubs had delayed putting Soto on the DL Friday because they wanted to make a corresponding roster move.
