7/12 Minor matters
Jose Ascanio gave up four runs on five hits over five innings in Triple-A Iowa’s 8-5 win over Oklahoma City Saturday, the first game of a doubleheader. In the second game, Jeremy Papelbon gave up five runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 innings as Iowa lost, 6-3. John-Ford Griffin had two hits in each game. Chris Robinson went 2-for-4 in the second game, and has a six-game hitting streak.
Hung-Wen Chen gave up two runs on six hits over seven innings in Tennessee’s 8-2 win over Montgomery. Class A Daytona lost, 5-3, to Clearwater. And, Michael Brenly had two hits, including a home run, in Peoria’s 5-3 win over Fort Wayne.
