9/1 September call-ups

The Cubs Tuesday activated infielder Andres Blanco from the disabled list and recalled right-handed pitcher Justin Berg and infielder/outfielder Micah Hoffpauir from Triple-A Iowa. All three players were available for Tuesday’s game against the Astros.

Expect the Cubs to activate David Patton (groin) from the DL on Wednesday.

CUB FAN I SEE HENDRY DO NOT CARE WHAT WE THINK BECAUSE HE IS STILL TRYING TO FIXED THING WITH THE SAME OLD PEOPLE WE KNOW THAT THESE SAME OLD CALL UP DID NOT WORK WHEN WE NEED THEM BEFORE SO HENDRY PLEASE TRY SO OF THE OTHER FARM HAND LIKE.RYAN FLAHERTY.JAMES ADDUCI.HAK-JU LEE.JOSE VALDEZ .JOHN FORD GRIFFINAND BRAD SNYDER THESE ARE THE PLAYERS THAT WE CUB FAN WOULD LIKE TO SEE BECAUSE SOME OF THEM WE GIVE THE TEAM SOMETHING THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE SPEED AND DEFENCE A DRIVE TO PLAY THE GAME THE RIGHT WAY

Unless they (Hendry the genius and Pinella the tired) plan on handing Blanco the shortstop job and moving Theriot to second base and playing Hoffpauir at first as regulars for the rest of the year I don’t know what will be accopmplished with this group of call-ups. Doesn’t Hendry need to find out for next year if he could/should trade Lee for some missing pieces? Not that I would like to see Lee go but he may be one of the few players that could bring a return if he decided to waive his no trade clause knowing the 2010 team will go nowhere with the current outfield. Doesn’t he also need to find out if Blanco is the slick fielder they need at short while Theriot would make a better second baseman than anybody we had this year? But of course it’s all a moot point because everything I mentioned assumes that Hendry is up to the task at hand of re-building this team which is doubtful since he thought he did well last year. He’ll keep doing the same thing expecting different results, a lot of people think that’s the definition of insanity. Similiar to getting Bradley for three years and expecting a well adjusted, above average fielder, a better left handed hitter than right handed, AND a player that will stay healthy all year. Something that Bradley WASN’T FOR ANY OF HIS PREVIOUS TEAMS, but we’ll get a BETTER Bradley for THE CUBS….INSANE.
