9/7 Stevens recalled
Right-handed pitcher Jeff Stevens was recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Monday, and with the Cubs in Pittsburgh. Stevens, who turned 26 on Saturday, begins his fourth stint with the big league team. He compiled a 2.03 ERA in 42 relief appearances for Iowa thi syear, limiting the opponent to a .175 batting average. The moves gives the Cubs 32 players on the roster. They are expected to add Jeff Samardzija after his start Monday at Iowa.
