9/16 A little RBI history
At the end of June, Derrek Lee led the Cubs with 39 RBIs. He now has 101 for the season. It’s rare for a player to have less than 40 RBIs at the end of June and still reach 100 for the year. The last three Cubs to do so are:
Sammy Sosa: 36 RBIs end of June 2003; finished with 103
Ron Santo: 39 RBIs end of June 1970; finished with 114
Ernie Banks: 35 RBIs end of June 1957; finished with 102
