9/26 Lineup & Lee update
Derrek Lee was not in the lineup Saturday to give him another day to recover from neck spasms that flared up Thursday. Jake Fox was starting at first base in Game 3 of this four-game series against the Giants. Also, Kevin Gregg threw on the side Saturday, and the Cubs want to see how he feels Sunday before deciding whether he’ll be available Tuesday for the final homestand. Gregg is bothered by inflammation in his rib cage.
Here’s the lineup:
SS Theriot
LF Taguchi
3B Ramirez
1B Fox
2B Baker
RF Johnson
C Soto
CF Fuld
P Gorzelanny
– Carrie Muskat

Carrie,
what are your thought’s on sending Fox and Hoffpauir to play right and left field in winter ball ? INMHO we would have one BAD outfield with Fuld and Colvin.
Fox is going to play winter ball, returning to the Dominican Republic to play for Licey in the second half of their season. He wants the chance to get to the Caribbean World Series. Hoffpauir is not headed for winter ball, and to be honest, he’s a better first baseman than outfielder (despite the error on Saturday). As for the outfield next year, I’d like to see Colvin in the mix, but unless he dazzles in Spring Training, I can see him starting at Triple-A Iowa in 2010.
