3/1 "We Believe" DVD available

Remember the documentary on the Cubs and their fans called “We Believe” that was filmed during the 2008 season? Movie director John Scheinfeld has inked a DVD distribution deal for the film with New York-based distributor Virgil Films & Entertainment. It’ll be available April 13, the day after the Cubs’ regular season home opener.

The documentary includes interviews with Kerry Wood, Geovany Soto, Mark DeRosa, Ryan Dempster, Lou Piniella and Ryan Theriot. There is a feature on Steve Goodman, who wrote “Go Cubs Go.” If you love the Cubs and the city of Chicago, it’s a nice keepsake.

Gary Sinise narrated “We Believe” with appearances by Billy Corgan, Bob Costas, Dennis Franz, Jeff Garlin (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”), Buddy Guy, Hugh Hefner, Bonnie Hunt, Joe Mantegna, George Will, Bud Selig and Francis Cardinal George, archbishop of Chicago. Go to the movie website, webelievethemovie.com, for more information.
