4/4 Ted Lilly update
Ted Lilly threw 67 pitches over 5 2/3 innings Sunday in Mesa, Ariz., in a Minor League game for the Cubs. He has two more Minor League starts to go — April 9 and April 14 — and if all goes well, would then be ready for the rotation. That means he could be inserted when the Cubs play the Mets in New York.
“He’s well on his way to getting back to us,” Lou Piniella said of the left-hander. “He’s really coming along and he felt good after he finished.”
