4/7 Impressive debut
Atlanta’s 20-year-old rookie sensation Jason Heyward became the 11th player to homer in his first Major League at-bat when he did so Monday off Carlos Zambrano.
“I don’t want to be more impressed than I was the first game,” Lou Piniella said of Heyward. “He impressed me enough. He hit that ball pretty far, didn’t he? That’s a good start for him. He’s a big strong kid and takes a nice swing at the ball. He doesn’t cheat himself.”
