4/9 Minor matters
Andrew Cashner struck out 10 over 4 1/3 innings to lead Doube-A Tennessee to a 4-3 win over Mississippi on Thursday. Cashner struck out the first seven batters he faced. Starlin Castro had two hits, including a triple, and drove in a run and stole a base.
Ryne Sandberg is 0-1 after the Triple-A Iowa team dropped its opener, 6-3 to Nashville. J.R. Mathes took the loss, giving up five runs on nine hits over five innings. Bobby Scales walked three times and had a hit. Sam Fuld drove in a run.
Class A Daytona lost 3-0 to Brevard County despite solid pitching by Rafael Dolis. The right-hander gave up two hits over five scoreless innings, striking out five.
Greg Rohan hit a two-run homer to help Peoria beat Clinton, 5-4. Robert Whitenack gave up four runs on seven hits over five innings for the win.

Yeah, I agree, FIRE HIM!!! Then hire him for the big league club! And demote Castro too!!! He can’t hit, drive in runs or steal bases….”demote” him to the major league club. What fools to think the major league club is better with Theriot at SS and either Fontenot or Baker at 2b while this kid Castro is burning time in the minors, and not even gaining any wisdom by playing for the HOF Sandberg…AA for *&#$sake! Fools.
