4/11 Minor matters
Michael Brenly hit a walkoff, three-run homer with two outs in the 12th Saturday to lift Daytona to a 7-4 victory over Brevard County. Alberto Cabrera started and threw six shutout innings, giving up two hits.
The Iowa Cubs and Ryne Sandberg dropped to 0-3 after losing 2-1 in 10 innings to Nashville. Starter Thomas Diamond gave up one run on four hits over five innings, striking out five. Jim Adduci was 2-for-5. Casey Coleman starts Sunday for the I-Cubs. Jeff Gray has pitched in two games, a total of three innings, and struck out one. He has not given up a hit or walked a batter.
Ty Wright hit a game-winning two-out, two-run homer in the seventh to lift Tennessee to a 7-3 win over Mississippi. He went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Marcos Mateo picked up the save, his first. Starlin Castro went 3-for-4 and is batting .462 (6-for-13) with two triples in three games.
Hak-Ju Lee had a hit and a RBI in Peoria’s 8-2 loss to Clinton. Jonathan Nagel took the loss, giving up three runs on six hits and striking out six over three innings.
