5/1 May Day lineup & rotation
Marlon Byrd is starting in center for the Cubs Saturday in Game 3 of this four-game series against the D-Backs. Here’s the lineup:
SS Theriot
RF Fukudome
1B Lee
CF Byrd
3B Ramirez
LF Soriano
2B Fontenot
C Soto
P Silva
Carlos Silva’s right wrist is still swollen but he is starting on Saturday. He will be given an extra day before his next start and the Cubs rotation for the upcoming road trip, starting Tuesday, will be Ryan Dempster, Ted Lilly, Randy Wells, Tom Gorzelanny and Silva.

I like this lineup a lot…at least until Rami starts hitting again. It takes pressure off of him and gives Byrd a chance for some more RBIs. Lee also appears to be closer to being back than Rami. He hasn’t had the power, but he has been hitting the ball hard a lot and not striking out often.
