5/14 Minor matters
Thomas Diamond gave up four runs on seven hits over five innings in Iowa’s 8-4 win over Las Vegas on Thursday. Diamond now has a 2-0 record and 2.17 ERA. Bryan LaHair hit his fourth homer of the year and was a triple shy of the cycle. Chad Tracy had four hits.
Hung-Wen Chen gave up five runs (three earned) on eight hits over seven innings in Tennessee’s 5-3 loss to Carolina. The Smokies made four errors in the game.
Chris Archer threw five shutout innings, giving up one hit, but it wasn’t enough as Daytona lost, 3-2 to Bradenton. Ryan Flaherty had two hits.
Trey McNutt threw six shutout innings in Peoria’s 7-1 win over Burlington. McNutt struck out seven. Justin Bour and Matt Cerda each homered for the Chiefs, who ended a five-game losing streak with the win.
