5/21 Minor matters
Casey Coleman gave up one run on two hits over five innings and struck out five in Iowa’s 11-7 win Thursday over Colorado Springs. It was the Iowa Cubs’ ninth win in their last 10 games. Welington Castillo had three hits and six RBIs, hitting a grand slam for his sixth homer of the season. Darwin Barney and Jason Dubois each had three hits.
Ty Wright and Marwin Gonzalez each homered to help Tennessee beat Jacksonville, 8-4. Austin-Bibens-Dirkx picked up the win, giving up four runs on four hits and four walks over six innings. Josh Vitters notched his fifth multi-hit game of the year.
Brooks Raley gave up one run on three hits over five innings in Daytona’s 7-5 win over Fort Myers. Brett Jackson and Kyler Burke each homered. Burke’s blast was a third inning grand slam.
Hak-Ju Lee had three hits in Peoria’s 9-6, 15-inning win over Wisconsin. Trey McNutt started the game and gave up one unearned run on one hit and three walks over 4 2/3 innings.
