5/21 Soriano: I'm living the dream

Friday marked the 12th game of his career in which Alfonso Soriano batted fourth. He didn’t seem to care.

“I’m living the dream that I want to live,” Soriano said. “I want to stay healthy and play hard like I’m playing and running good and run the bases good and play good defense. That’s what I want to be.”

The left fielder was a little beat up, though. His right knee was bruised after fouling a pitch off it in the ninth inning Thursday. He was then hit on the left hip by a pitch in the same at-bat. Soriano ended up getting a walk.

“A lot of people said it was a good at-bat,” Soriano said. “It’s good because I got on base in the ninth inning with nobody out. For me, it’s not a great at-bat because we lost. I broke two bats and I got hit twice.”
