Carlos Zambrano’s next win will be his 107th with the Cubs, tying Fred Goldsmith for 20th on the team’s all-time list. In the last 75 years, only six pitchers have more wins in a Cubs uniform than Big Z: Fergie Jenkins, Rick Reuschel, Greg Maddux, Bill Lee, Claude Passeau and Bob Rush.
Zambrano enters Friday’s game against the Astros with 1,360 strikeouts with the Cubs, seven shy of Rick Reuschel for fourth on the team’s all-time list.
