Russ Canzler hit a game-tying, two-run homer in the fifth to help Tennessee beat Huntsville, 8-5. Ryan Buchter picked up the win in relief of starter Alberto Cabrera, who gave up five runs (three earned) on six hits over 5 2/3 innings.
Brooks Raley gave up eight runs on 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings in Daytona’s 9-5 loss to Palm Beach. The Daytona Cubs stranded seven on base and were victimes of four double plays.
Peoria’s game against West Michigan was suspended by rain in the middle of the third inning, tied at 4. The game will resume Sunday at 12 p.m. CT. The last suspended game for the Chiefs was July 29, 2008, in the first ever Minor League game at Wrigley Field.
