6/9 Lineup & Lou's plan
Lou Piniella met with some of the players one on one in his office before Wednesday’s game and the message was simple.
“Whoever’s playing the best is going to get the playing time,” Piniella said. “I’ve been very patient and from now on — and I appreciate the effort everybody’s given — but we’re not winning baseball games and I’m going to play people who I feel give us the best chance to win on that particular day and that’s the end of it.”
With Aramis Ramirez on the 15-day DL and Chad Tracy in the mix, expect to see a platoon of Tracy and Jeff Baker at third base.
