7/10 Soto hits ninth homer
Good to see Geovany Soto heating up. Soto hit his ninth homer with one out in the second on Saturday against the Dodgers; he hit eight home runs in the first half last season and finished with 11 (In 2008, when Soto won NL Rookie honors, he hit 16 homers in the first half).
The Cubs catcher entered Saturday’s game 6-for-13 on the road trip with three doubles and three RBIs. He’s 23-for-71 with nine doubles, three homers and 12 RBIs in his last 23 games since June 7. From May 11-June 4, Soto hit .120.
