Belated report from Friday’s games:

Sam Fuld had three hits, including his third home run, but it wasn’t enough as Iowa lost 6-3 to New Orleans in the first game of a doubleheader. Hung-Wen Chen took the loss, giving up five runs (four earned) on eight hits over four innings. In the second game, Austin Bibens-Dirkx picked up the win in his first Triple-A start as Iowa topped New Orleans, 6-1. Bibens-Dirkx gave up one run on four hits over five innings and struck out four. He also hit a double and drove in a run. Ty Wright had three hits, including two doubles, and was batting .310 in 10 games with the Iowa Cubs.

Josh Vitters and Robinson Chirinos both homered but it wasn’t enough as Tennessee lost 7-6 to Jacksonville. Vitters had two RBIs, Chirinos three. Also, lefty Luke Sommer was added to the North Division for the Southern League All-Star Game to be played Monday. He replaces teammate David Cales, who was promoted to Iowa.

Rebel Ridling hit two home runs in Daytona’s 7-6 win over Tampa. Ridling drove in four runs, including a pair on a game-winning homer in the ninth. Kyler Burke has hit safely in 10 of his last 12 games.

Nick Struck gave up one run on four hits over six innings in Peoria’s 4-3 loss to Kane County. Jae-Hoon Ha had two hits.

Alvaro Ramirez had three hits and five RBIs in Boise’s 9-6 win over Eugene. John Mincone struck out three over 4 2/3 innings, and gave up five runs, but all were unearned and all came in the fifth inning.

Dustin Harrington was a triple shy of the cycle, going 3-for-5, in Mesa’s 9-8, 10-inning loss to the Giants. Harrington had four RBIs. He hit a two-out grand slam in the seventh and was 5-for-13 in his last three games.
