7/14 Minor matters

Alvaro Ramirez had three hits, including his second home run, to help Boise beat Salem-Keizer, 7-4. Jesus Morelli had four hits and one RBI. Dustin Fitzgerald picked up the win in relief, pitching 3 1/3 scoreless innings.

Blair Springfield had three hits and two RBIs to help Mesa beat the Rangers, 10-5. Hunter Ackerman gave up two hits over one inning in the start. Vismeldy Bieneme picked up his fifth straight multi-hit game with two hits.

The Triple-A All-Star game is Wednesday night in Allentown, Pa., and Thomas Diamond and Darwin Barney will represent the Iowa Cubs.

Double-A Tennessee resumes play Wednesday against Chattanooga after taking some time for its All-Star break. Daytona had Tuesday off and opens a four-game series Wednesday against Fort Myers.
