Jamie Moyer, who started Thursday for the Phillies vs. the Cubs, played for Lou Piniella in Seattle.
“He stays in great shape plus he’s very intelligent on the mound,” Piniella said of the lefty. “He can get you out in a variety of ways. To his credit at 46, he’s stayed healthy and he’s refined his pitching style. I don’t think anybody does it better than Jamie as far as not getting you out with velocity [but being able to change] speeds and locations. He’s a pro’s pro.”
