7/15 Status quo
There have been rumors about some of the Cubs players who might be dealt by the July 31 trading deadline and also rumors about GM Jim Hendry’s job status. The Cubs headed into Thursday’s game 9 1/2 games back in the NL Central.
“I don’t worry about that and never have,” Hendry said Thursday. “I’ve been here 15 years and been on both sides of it — when we’re doing real well in the standings and when we’re not doing so well. I don’t put much stock in it.”
