7/21 A little history
For all you Ryne Sandberg fans, here’s some interesting trivia:
In baseball history, only one person has been hired as a Major League manager after his Hall of Fame induction as a player and that was Ted Williams who was enshrined in 1966 and hired by the Senators in 1969.

And in 1969 Ted Williams was Manager of the Year, leading the Senators to their first winning season in many years.
