If you called Lou Piniella after he announced his retirement and you’re wondering why he hasn’t gotten back to you, forget it.
Piniella said he planned on going over his many voice mail messages on Thursday.
“I deleted all of them,” he said Friday.
Actually, his wife Anita listened to a few.
“I finally told her, ‘Let’s just start anew,’” Piniella said.
The Cubs manager, who revealed Tuesday he is going to retire from managing at the end of this season, said the job has changed.
