7/25 The Hawk lands in the HOF
Andre Dawson made a point of thanking Cubs fans for welcoming him to the city and supporting him during his induction speech Sunday at the baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
“From my heart, thank you, Cubs fans,” Dawson said as fans bowed to him “You’re a true blessing in my life. I never knew what it felt to be loved by a city until I came to Chicago. You gave me new life in baseball when I arrived and you are the reason I contineud to play.
“You were the wind beneath the Hawk’s wings,” he said.

It couldn’t have happened to a greater guy…Andre Dawson was a man that played his heart out in the company of Billy Williams and I’m not sure…but maybe even Ernie Banks (Mr. Cubs) and Rick Monday. Congrats Andre…you deserved it long ago…
