8/4 Minor matters
J.R. Mathes gave up five runs on seven hits over five innings in Iowa’s 5-1 loss to Oklahoma City on Tuesday. Micah Hoffpauir had two hits and extended his hitting streak to 12 games.
Chris Rusin took the loss in his Tennessee debut as the Smokies lost, 3-2, to Montgomery. Rusin gave up one unearned run on four hits over five innings. Nate Samson had two hits, including a RBI double.
David Macias hit his second homer but it wasn’t enough as Daytona lost, 11-5, to Bradenton. Robert Whitenack gave up six runs, five earned, on eight hits over four innings for the loss. Michael Brenly had a hit and has hit safely in 29 of his last 32 games.
Ryan Searle gave up four runs on five hits over five innings in Peoria’s 5-1 loss to Wisconsin. Jae-Hoon Ha had a hit and two stolen baess.
Eric Jokisch gave up one run on four hits over four innings and took the loss in Boise’s 3-0 loss to Tri-City. Alvaro Ramirez had two hits and extended his hitting streak to eight games.
Luis Liria gave up four runs, three earned on five hits over 3 2/3 innings in Mesa’s 5-3 loss to the Indians. Brian Shields had two hits and two RBIs.
