8/18 Minor matters
Jay Jackson gave up four runs, three earned, on seven hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings in Iowa’s 5-4 loss to Sacramento on Tuesday. Marquez Smith homered for the third straight game and drove in two runs.
Tennessee had an off day Tuesday and resumes play Wednesday against Mississippi. Daytona’s game against Tampa was canceled because of the weather. The Daytona Cubs open a three-game series Wednesday against Dunedin. The Peoria Chiefs had Tuesday off also and face Burlington on Wednesday.
Richard Jones had two hits in Boise’s 7-1 loss to Everett. Matt Loosen took the loss, giving up two runs on five hits over four innings.
