Carlos Zambrano passed Kerry Wood and moved into sole possession of third place on the Cubs’ all-time strikeout list when he fanned the Mets’ Angel Pagan in the fifth inning Saturday. Pagan was the fifth strikeout on Saturday. Big Z fanned eight on Saturday in the Cubs’ 5-3 win over the Mets and now has 1,411 Ks. Wood finished his Cubs career with 1,407 strikeouts. Next up on the list is Charlie Root (1,432). Fergie Jenkins is the team’s all-time strikeout leader with 2,038 Ks.
