9/5 Daytona finishes with win
Robert Whitenack threw seven shutout innings to help Class A Daytona beat Lakeland, 6-0, on Sunday in the season finale. The Daytona Cubs finished 75-64 overall. Jose Valdez hit a two-run double in the second and Ryan Flaherty added a sacrifice fly in the fifth. DJ LeMahieu hit another sac fly to make it 4-0 in the seventh.
