9/6 Byrd is the word

Marlon Byrd hit his 12th homer of the season in the third inning, and his first since Aug. 11. So far, 27 of his 60 RBIs have come with two outs. Byrd is batting .374 against lefties this year with five homers, 14 doubles and 23 RBIs. That average is tops in the National League and third in the Majors. In his last six games against lefties, he’s 8-for-18 with five RBIs.

Marlon Byrd has done a super job this year! With a team that has struggled to show much energy and enthusiasm, Marlon Byrd has proven why he was selected to play in the all-star game with his hustle and determination. Marlon leads by example. Cubs’ fans should tip their cap to him. Finally, a player that understands what it’s all about.
