9/8 Castro's back
Starlin Castro was back in the Cubs lineup after sitting two games. Cubs manager Mike Quade wanted Castro to get some extra work in, especially after making a base-running gaffe on Sunday and being out of position on defense on Saturday.
“Let’s get him back in the lineup and get him playing and get him doing what he needs to do,” Quade said of the rookie shortstop, who ranks third in the NL with a .317 average.
“He understands where I’m coming from and we’ve talked at length about his youth,” Quade said. “It’s a step in the process of growing — that’s the way I look at it and I’m as anxious as anybody to see him come out and play well.”
