9/11 Byrd is the word
Cubs outfielder Marlon Byrd singled with two outs in the first Saturday for his 156th hit this season, setting a career single-season high. Byrd singled to right off the Brewers Randy Wolf. It also was the 900th hit of Byrd’s career. The Cubs center fielder’s previous high was 155 hits, set last season with the Rangers. Before that, his single-season high was 127 set in 2007 in Texas.
