9/11 Smokies take 2-1 lead with win
Double-A Tennessee took a 2-1 lead in the best of five series against West Tenn with a 9-2 win Saturday night in the Southern League playoffs. Tony Campana got things started with an inside the park leadoff home run. Blake Lalli hit a two-run single in the fourth and Russ Canzler belted a two-run homer with two outs in the sixth. Matthew Spencer followed Canzler with a solo shot to open a 9-1 lead. Starter Trey McNutt struck out six and gave up one run on four hits over five innings.
