9/13 Tennessee advances
Steve Clevenger hit a two-run homer to help Tennessee beat West Tenn, 5-2, on Sunday to clinch the Southern League North Division series and advance. The Smokies now will play Jacksonville in a rematch of last year’s championship series. The first and second games of the best of five series will be played at Smokies Park, starting Tuesday. Craig Muschko was the winning pitcher, giving up two runs on six hits over six innings.
