9/14 Gorzelanny, Silva updates
Tom Gorzelanny, out since Sept. 1 when he took a line drive off his left hand, will throw a five inning simulated game on Friday in Florida. Gorzelanny was available out of the Cubs bullpen if needed in long relief. The lefty will throw a five inning sim game in Florida in hopes of making another start this year.
As for Carlos Silva, he rejoined the Cubs on Tuesday in St. Louis and will continue to take treatment for tendinitis in his right elbow. He will be evaluated in one week, but has not been shutdown for the season.
