9/21 Selig calls Colvin
MLB commissioner Bud Selig called Tyler Colvin on Monday to make sure the Cubs outfielder was OK after being hit by a broken bat.
“It was very sad,” Selig said of the incident. “I talked to the young man [Monday] afternoon. Hopefully he’s going home [Tuesday]. We’ve been very vigorous on this subject and will continue to be so.”
Colvin was hit in the chest by the bat on Sunday in Miami. He was in stable condition.
