9/29 Soriano stat

Alfonso Soriano’s second home run on Tuesday off Mike Adams was the first homer that Adams served up to a right-handed batter at PETCO Park since Minnesota’s Craig Monroe took him deep on June 25, 2008. Since Monroe’s homer, Adams has pitched 71 games in San Diego and held right-handed batters to a .115 batting average there (15 hits in 131 at-bats). Credit Elias Sports Bureau with the info.

Wouldn’t these be Adams’ stats and not Soriano’s? Well whatever gets Soriano’s 2 homer night more press time is probably what Hendry would like to see anyway, reminding all us disgruntled fans that the rapidly aging, always slow out of the box, hardly ever hustling, cement gloved left fielder he signed for 8 years can still hit two homers in one meaningless game (for the Cubs). Meaningless: Year Four Of Eight…now THAT’S a slogan that will keep the masses packing into Wrigley! I mean, who wouldn’t want to watch Soriano for four more years? What an opportunity Hendry gave us.
