10/12 Arizona Fall League

The Mesa Solar Sox opened the Arizona Fall League season on Tuesday against the Phoenix Desert Dogs. None of the Cubs’ prospects were in the Sox’s starting lineup but on Wednesday night at HoHoKam Park, expect to see pitchers Jake Muyco, Chris Carpenter, Kyle Smith and David Cales all get some innings. Third baseman Josh Vitters, who missed most of the season because of a broken hand, also was expected to be in the lineup. Former Cubs catcher Casey Kopitzke is the Solar Sox manager.

Sorry you feel that way, but the AFL does not have rules saying a team has to play someone from each club. On Wednesday, all of the Cubs pitching prospects are scheduled to get at least one inning in the game at HoHoKam Park. At least consider going on Wednesday — it’s a night game and it’ll be a little cooler.

I am done with the Arizona Fall League. I went to the first game. I’m not a baseball fan, I’m a Cub fan. There should be at least one player from each team in the starting lineup. I don’t think that’s too much to ask. But not one Cub player got into the game. Kopitzke must be trying to get a job with another club. As far as I concerned I was ripped off. I talked to other Cub fans and they felt the same way.

When not one player from the Cubs gets into the game it’s a rip off. I went to my last Arizona Fall League game today.
